About Us

Ndungiri Comprehensive School is a historic institution located in the heart of our community, with a proud legacy dating back to 1977. The school stands on land generously donated by the Ngwataniro Mutukanio Laro buying company, reflecting the deep-rooted commitment of our local community to education.

In its early years, learning took place in modest facilities — repurposed rooms from a former colonial settler's homestead. Despite these humble beginnings, the school was filled with eager learners, boasting a large student population. Over time, however, the school faced challenges, including declining enrollment and limited infrastructure development.

A turning point came with the introduction of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) and later the National Government-Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF). These government initiatives paved the way for significant progress in school infrastructure.

Under the able leadership of Hon. Samuel Gachobe, the current Member of Parliament, Ndungiri Primary School has experienced a visible transformation. The once colonial-era house has been renovated into a modern administration block. Classrooms have been revamped, creating a more vibrant and welcoming learning environment.

Today, our teachers benefit from improved working conditions, including:

  • Free internet access
  • Secretarial services
  • Comfortable office furniture
  • Water storage facilities
  • A staff welfare program with a functional Lunch Club

Despite these achievements, the journey is far from over. One of the school’s most pressing needs is improved infrastructure for our Junior Secondary School (JSS) learners. At present, we lack dedicated classrooms, laboratories, and washrooms for them — a gap we are determined to address in partnership with stakeholders and well-wishers.

At Ndungiri Comprehensive School, we believe in nurturing potential, preserving heritage, and building a brighter future for every learner.
